Why "Free" Volunteering?
Many international organizations charge volunteers thousands of dollars in “program fees” before they even arrive in Peru. Often, very little of that money ever reaches the local projects.
At Proyecto Peru, we do things differently. We believe you shouldn’t have to pay a fee to work. That is why we offer free Volunteer organization and placement for our Spanish and Quechua students and those staying in our volunteer house or with our homestay families.

100% Direct Impact: Your minimum project donation (from $60 USD) is kept in full by the local project you serve. Proyecto Peru keeps none of this donation.

How it Works: The Sustainability Model
To keep our placement services free and provide you with 24/7 in-country support, we operate a “community-first” model. We offer free organization to any volunteer who joins our community through our language school or accommodation in our volunteer house or with one of our amazing homestay families.
This model ensures you are culturally prepared, safely housed, and supported throughout your journey, while allowing us to keep our volunteer services 100% free of administrative charges.
Transparency: Where does your money go?
We believe in complete financial clarity. Here is the breakdown of the costs involved in your trip:
Project Donation (Min. $60): This goes directly to your chosen project (such as clinic, school, or shelter). It helps covers their overhead, materials, administrative costs and enables them to invest in their own sustainability as well as deliver on their missions. Proyecto Peru receives $0 of this.
Your Living Costs: You pay for your own accommodation (Volunteer House or Homestay) and Spanish (or Quechua) lessons at our standard local rates.
No Hidden “Registration” Fees: Unlike large or corporate agencies, we don’t charge “application” or “membership” fees. Our terms and conditions are fair and open
