Did 3 weeks with them for a placement for school, greatly enjoyed it! They organise the days so that there is a perfect division between working and free time, which I used to explore all of Cusco. They were very accommodating when I needed a few extra hours, and they were very quick to reply and help me when I needed a reference last minute. I would definitely recommend to anyone going to Peru to volunteer.Posted on Darius GarlandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Proyecto Peru gave me an amazing experience. I started with the wildlife animal project for 2 weeks and they helped me through the whole process. They set me up with a fun and interactive project which I learned a lot with. I also booked a weekend trip through them and they made it easy for me and the group. These guys make you feel part of a family and would recommend to anyone trying to be active in the city and meet good people!👍Posted on Jasmine EbbrellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I came for 2 weeks to work at the animal sanctuary and live with a host family in Cusco. It was such an amazing experience, I met so many amazing people and every single member of staff made us all feel so welcome, safe and at home in Peru. I would 100% recommend Proyecto Peru to anybody wanting to volunteer, travel, and immerse themselves in local culture.Posted on Lana KatzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 15-year-old twins and I had the opportunity to take one-on-one Spanish classes for two weeks, and we also volunteered in an aftercare program with children aged 5 to 12. It was truly an incredible and rewarding experience. First and foremost, our Spanish teachers were exceptional—knowledgeable, patient, and highly adaptable. They tailored the lessons to meet each of our individual learning needs, which made the classes both effective and enjoyable. Volunteering in the after-school program was equally fulfilling. We helped the children with their homework, assisted with meals, and helped clean up the classroom. We also supported basic English instruction, which was a wonderful way to engage and connect with the kids. Both the Spanish lessons and the volunteer work exceeded our expectations. My twins and I genuinely enjoyed every moment and learned so much. We highly recommend Proyecto Perú to anyone looking for an immersive and meaningful cultural experience.Posted on Thomas DorpelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Social Hub
The school also acts as a social hub for volunteers, students and interns, supported by a variety of organised weekly activities. A typical week starts with an orientation meeting for new arrivals and a welcome meal at a nearby restaurant; giving everyone a chance to get to know each other. During the week we offer two or three activities, usually one sport and one cultural or social activity. These range from pisco sour cocktail-making classes, salsa dancing or cermamic painting and much more.
We also run a monthly tandem event bringing together students from our Spanish school with local English students for an intercultural language exchange evening.
Many volunteers and students organize their own activities together or choose to take the same tours to share the many amazing experiences Cusco and the surrounding region has to offer.
