Current Roles
Role Description
We are looking for part-time and full-time, on-site native-speaking English teachers based in, or looking to relocate to, Cusco, Peru. The English teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons for learners at various levels, using communicative and student-centered approaches. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, adapting content to learner needs, and maintaining clear records of attendance and progress. The role involves providing constructive feedback, supporting learners’ confidence in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. The English teacher will collaborate with colleagues and coordinators to align teaching with program goals and may contribute to curriculum development, placement testing, and occasional extracurricular or cultural activities. There is no Spanish language requirement.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong instructional skills in English teaching and teaching, with the ability to engage learners of diverse backgrounds and levels.
- Proficiency in tesson tlanning and education, including designing structured, learner-centered lessons and assessing progress.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, with a clear, accessible teaching style.
- Relevant teaching qualification or certification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA).
- Previous experience teaching English as a second or foreign language,
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team and adapt to a new cultural environment with sensitivity and respect.
- Willingness to learn basic Spanish to support communication with local staff and community members is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a genuine interest in education, community engagement, and cultural exchange.

Location – Cusco, Peru (Office-based)
Employment Type – Full-time or part-time
Contract – 12-month contract (Internship option available with a minimum commitment of three months)
Salary – Competitive local salary (dependent on experience). Internship positions are unpaid, however discounted accommodation and language classes are available.
THE ROLE
This is a varied role combining approximately equal responsibility for social media management and wider marketing support.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Manager to create engaging content, support marketing campaigns and help promote Proyecto Peru’s language programmes, volunteering opportunities, internships and travel experiences.
No two weeks are exactly the same. One day you might be filming student activities around Cusco, the next writing website content, analysing campaign performance or helping launch a new program.
You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with international interns and contribute ideas that genuinely influence our marketing strategy and the wider business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media:
- Plan and manage our social media content calendar.
- Create engaging written, graphic and video content.
- Capture photography and short-form video around our center, activities and events.
- Edit videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok and other platforms.
- Schedule and publish content across multiple social media channels.
- Monitor comments and messages while helping maintain an active online community.
- Track engagement and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends and suggest new ideas.
Marketing:
- Assist with marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Update website content using WordPress.
- Write blogs, website copy and promotional content.
- Assist with SEO and website optimisation.
- Support email marketing campaigns.
- Produce brochures, posters and other marketing materials.
- Assist with reporting using Google Analytics and other marketing tools.
- Conduct competitor and market research.
- Help maintain our CRM and marketing databases.
- Support new marketing projects as they arise.
ABOUT YOU
We’re much more interested in enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to learn than extensive professional experience. This opportunity would suit a recent marketing graduate, an early-career marketing professional or someone looking to gain hands-on international experience.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking initiative, is naturally curious and isn’t afraid to suggest new ideas. You’ll be comfortable working independently when needed while also enjoying collaboration with colleagues from different countries and backgrounds.
You don’t need to know everything on your first day. We value enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to keep learning just as highly as technical skills.
Essential:
- Excellent written English (minimum C1 level).
- Strong communication skills.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- An interest in digital marketing and social media.
- Confidence using social media professionally.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively within a small collaborative team.
- Eligibility to apply for a work visa in Peru
Desirable:
- Spanish at approximately B1 level or above.
- Experience with Canva.
- Experience creating short-form video.
- Familiarity with WordPress.
- Basic understanding of SEO.
- Experience using Google Analytics.
- Knowledge of Meta Business Suite.
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
- Basic photography or videography skills.

INTERNSHIP OPTION
