WHO WE ARE

HISTORY

We were founded in 2005 in Cusco by a local Peruvian woman who had a dream of spreading the Spanish language and contributing meaningful work to her community. Dora has since been growing this dream and has built a network of kindhearted people dedicated to helping her achieve it. She is now joined by her life and business partner Coen, who, together with an international team of dedicated and enthusiastic professionals, help make the work of Proyecto Peru possible.

OUR MISSION

To provide a safe, fun, and affordable intercultural exchange where travelers discover, immerse, experience and grow together.

OUR VISION

We envision a network of travelers dedicated to connecting with the communities they visit; setting a standard for responsible and sustainable tourism.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. To develop the Peruvian community by sending responsible volunteers and invest in local projects
  2. To help families in the Cusco community to obtain extra income by hosting travelers
  3. To provide native Spanish teachers with the chance to teach and spread the Spanish language
  4. To provide a comfortable home-feel environment for all our students and volunteers
  5. To give our travelers a cross-cultural, giving, and rewarding experience

WHAT WE DO

We are passionate about providing an intercultural experience. Our volunteer and internship programs allow you to discover Cusco and its social, health, and education systems. We help connect our partner projects, schools, agencies, clinics, nonprofits, shelters, and after-school programs to the dedicated and skilled volunteers they are looking for. Our accommodation and Spanish class options encourage you to immerse into our culture, living and speaking like the locals do. Our tours give you a chance to experience the historical beauty of Cusco and its surrounding areas. Our goal is to help you grow throughout your experience with us as you gain new perspectives and understanding of the world around you.

OUR TEAM

Our diverse team of talented and experienced international staff are happy to help and support you throughout your stay. We are always available just to chat and love meeting our students and volunteers from all over the world.
