Project Profile

Woman Protection Centre

Project description

This project is a women protection centre for women between 11 and 18 years old. This centre takes care of 14 women who are pregnant or already mom because of sexual abuse (and domestic violence)

This centre does not only provide protection, but also supports in processing traumas and provides education.

The main objectives of this centre include:

  • Protect and support these moms and their children
  • Prepare the moms to become independent and to take care of their children
  • Support the moms in processing trauma
  • Provide and support in education, to give these women a brighter future

They have several professionals in Education, Health, Social Work and Nursing.

As an intern, you will rotate through the centre, this includes helping in the kitchen, cleaning, teaching English, supervising children and more.

Dependent on your study/ field of interest, you can specialise in a specific area. You will for example work at the kindergarten, teach English or assist the nurses.

The children who live in the centre are up to 4 years old. However, there is also a kindergarten with children between 6 and 12 years old. This is an extra service for the women who have lived there before, and who are usually between 20 and 25 years old.
